Introduction
Electromechanica Kymi Ltd, established in 1988, is one ot the three subsidiaries of Hellenic Defense Systems S.A. (EBO-PYRKAL).
The plant is situated near Kymi, Evia, approximately 160 km Northeast of Athens.
Production first started in 1990 with the manufacturing of military uniforms and accessories. Since then the Electromechanica has reoriented its strategy and has gone beyond military clothing and accessories to dynamically enter the field of high technology products, such as various types of bullet proof vests. The most recent additions to the product range are the development on nuclear biological chemical (NBC) war products, bullet proof helmets as well as other ballistic applications (protection of buildings, vehicles and vessels).
Main products of Electromechanica are:
- various types of military uniforms and accessories
- accessories & clothing for hunters
- special purpose clothing manufactured from high technology materials, such as fire resistant uniforms
- nuclear biological chemical (NBC) war products (uniforms etc.)
- Minotaur line of bullet proof vests: multitask vests, vests for military & police use, concealed armor vests for civilian use
- various types of bullet proof helmets
- ballistic applications (protection of buildings, vehicles and vessels).

Electromechanica is one of the main shareholders in two companies manufacturing military uniforms, situated in areas near the northern border of Greece.
Personnel: 100 employees (out of 80 are occupied in production departments).

Production Facilities - Machinery & Equipment
The production equipment and storage warehouse cover a total area of approx 9.000 sq.m. These facilities are to be further extended in the near future to cover the increasing production needs as well as the development & production of new products.
The facilities are equipped with state of the art machinery and equipment such as: 220 various types of sewing machines, cutting equipment as well as an automatic CAD/CAM system used for designing & cutting, enhancing quality and quantity.
The production program is elaborated by the Production Planning Department. Efficient quality control tests are conducted during various phases of the production process. A fully equipped chemical analysis laboratory was recently launched.
Personnel Training
Special importance is placed on personnel training, aiming at the upgrading of technical and management skills.
The Electromechanica training department, in cooperation with the training departments of the other companies of the Group is also quite active in organizing vocational training programs for the specialization of local jobless residents.
Quality Assurance
The manufacturing of high quality products according to international military standards is of major importance for all of five companies of the EAS Group. Through the application of strict quality control standards, Electromechanica has been certified by the Hellenic Organization for Standardization according to ISO 9001.
One of the main concerns of Electromechanica is the satisfaction of the cunsomer. So, besides providing the customer with high quality products, after sales support is also considered very important.
Commercial Activities
Despite its short history by manufacturing reliable products Electromechanica has managed to become the main supplier of the Hellenic Armed Forces and Police for products such as bullet proof vests and other high technology products.
