The Ballistic Tests Laboratory – Ballistic Station has been accredited by the Hellenic National Accreditation System (ESYD) in compliance with ELOT EN ISO /IEC 17025 standard since March 2009 for the following scopes :
a. measurement of maximum chamber pressure of guns and mortars using crusher gauges
b. issue of ballistic meteorological message for artillery (surface to surface fire )
c. ballistic resistance of personal bulletproof vests
d. classification of bullet attack resistance of construction and safety glass.
The Laboratory, which covers an area of 450 m2, as well as five tunnels of 50m to 200 m length, is part of the Hellenic Defence Systems Hymettus industrial facilities. Tests ( c ) and ( d ) are performed in that area, while tests ( a ) and ( b ) are performed at Koskina Proving Ground (Evia Island).
The Lab personnel consist of highly skilled and trained specialists with long experience in tests performance.
The documented Quality System of the Laboratory and the modern equipment ensure the reliability of the tests performed both on company as well as external customers’ products.
